Antonio Oraldi completed a Master’s degree in Philosophy & Public Affairs at University College Dublin with a thesis titled “Technology and society in Habermas’ social theory: towards a critical theory of technology beyond instrumentalism” (2020) under the supervision of Prof. Maeve Cooke. His undergraduate degree in Philosophy & Sociology was carried out at the University of Aberdeen, culminating in a dissertation on the concept of non-human citizenship in Hannah Arendt’s political philosophy (supervision by Prof. Beth Lord). Antonio’s main research interests lie at the intersection between philosophy of technology, political philosophy, and social philosophy. He is particularly interested in post-phenomenology, critical theory of technology, citizenship theory, and STS. Currently, he holds a FCT-funded CFUL Grant to complete his PhD in Philosophy at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, under the supervision of Prof. Tamara Caraus. The dissertation project is titled “Citizenship in the age of the Internet of Things: The politics of immersion in cyber-physical environments”.
