Research group:  Praxis

PhD student in contemporary philosophy, with an academic and professional transdisciplinary career, she intersects several areas, such as law, philosophy, political advice, advertising, art and communication. She has had some experience in journalism, too, and she is the author of the book, O Faroleiro do Tempo (2015).

With a degree in Law (2003), civil law (pre Bologna), she also carried out a field study in four prison establishments, seeking to analyze the phenomena of imprisonment in the Portuguese prison system and its guidance for reintegration into society.

As a plastic artist, she uses mixed techniques, such as pastel acrylic, collage and assemblage, etc.

So, she combines, art, politics and philosophy, currently developing a research as PhD student at the Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon (CFUL).

She organizes her research based on the thoughts of Gilles Deleuze (and Félix Guattari), focusing on issues linked to art as a means of resistance and movement, something that forces the mind to think outside the mere function of acknowledgement and recognition. She formulates the basic problem of her research in a question: Can art create ‘escape lines’ from the society of control?
