Lorenzo Baravalle

Lorenzo Baravalle is Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Valencia (Spain). From 2019 to 2024, he was Researcher at the Centre for Philosophy of Science of the University of Lisbon (CFCUL). Formerly, he was Professor of Epistemology at the Federal University of ABC (São Paulo, Brazil). He holds a joint PhD in Philosophy from the University Rovira i Virgili and the University of Barcelona (Spain), and a minor in Mathematics from the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon.
His main research interests are in the philosophy of biology and the philosophy of computer science. He is currently working on topics related to mathematical modelling in evolutionary biology and cultural evolutionary theory, and computational approaches to biological development.
