João Rochate da Palma is a PhD student (FCT Grant Holder) at the Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon (CFUL). His project seeks a reaffirmation of agonism stemming from Chantal Mouffe’s political philosophy and taking into account the concepts of hegemony, pluralism an antagonism. Previously, he obtained his Master’s degree (2023) awarded by the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon with a dissertation on the concept of genealogy in Nietzsche and its reception by Foucault and Deleuze; and obtained his bachelor’s within the same institution (2020), with a dissertation on Political Nihilism and its relation to the individual and power. His fields of interest are Social and Political Philosophy, and Philosophy of Culture and of History, particularly within the post-Kantian Continental tradition.
