Guillaume Fréchette

Guillaume Fréchette works on 19th and 20th-century Austro-German philosophy. After a PhD at the University of Hamburg, he spent a few years at UQAM in Montréal as Postdoctoral Fellow doing research on Franz Brentano and his school. He came back to Europe in 2012 to work as a Principal Investigator on two FWF projects in Salzburg on phenomenal intentionality and on Brentano’s descriptive psychology. He also has been collaborateur scientifique on two SNF projects in Geneva on Austro-German philosophy.
He is co-editor of the journal Brentano Studien and of the Primary Sources in Phenomenology series at Springer. He is President of the Internationale Franz Brentano Gesellschaft.
At the University of Lisbon, Guillaume’s research focuses on Franz Brentano’s metaphysics.
