Federico Lauria is Assistant Researcher at the Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon, working on the FCT project “Musical Emotions and the Metaphorical Mind: An Interdisciplinary Approach”. His primary interests are the philosophy of emotion and affective sciences, at the intersection of the philosophy of mind, moral psychology, aesthetics and cognitive science. After having obtained his PhD at the University of Geneva, he was a researcher at the University of Geneva (Swiss Center for Affective Sciences), Neuchâtel (Cognitive Science Center), Columbia University (Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America), New York University, Milan University, Columbia University (Center for Science and Society) and the University of Antwerp (Center for Philosophical Psychology). His main research topics are desire, self-deception, musical emotions, epistemic emotions, affective bias, and emotions towards death.
