Bernardo Barroso

I’m currently studying for a MA in Philosophy at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. I previously obtained my BA from the same institution, with a dissertation about laughter in Plato’s Theaetetus (2025) which was funded by the Gulbenkian New Talents Scholarship for the year of 2024/25. For my master’s I will be working on a contractualist reading of Plato’s Republic and Crito. My main area of interest is ancient philosophy, but I’m also interested in modern and contemporary views about ethics and political philosophy. I’m also a member of NEN (Núcleo de Estudos de Neoplatonismo) with which I’m organizing a reading seminar of Plato’s Sophist
