Daniel Rossi Nunes Lopes

Daniel Rossi Nunes Lopes is a professor of Greek Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) (2003-). He is associate researcher of the international cooperation Princeton-USP-Panamericana-De los Andes Consortium in Ancient Philosophy (2014-). He contributes to the project aiming at translating into Portuguese all of the works attributed to Aristotle, coordinated by Prof. António Pedro Mesquita (University of Lisbon), with the volume dedicated to the Magna Moralia. In Brazil, he is currently the director of the Texts Collection – Plato (Perspectiva Press), and has already published three books containing study, translation, footnotes, and commentaries of the Gorgias (2011), Protagoras (2017), and Euthyphro, Apology, and Crito (2023). He coordinates along with Prof. Roberto Bolzani (Department of Philosophy/USP) the Research Group on Ancient Philosophy (CNPq/Brasil). His research interests are in ancient philosophy, particularly Plato and Aristotle, Greek oratory, Greek historiography, history of the Greek political thought, and translation of classical texts.
