Dinis Tomás

Dinis Tomás is a PhD student of Philosophy at FLUL. He received his bachelor’s degree at that same institution, with a dissertation concerning the relation of Practical Virtue with the Happy Life of Study in Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics (2020). Still at FLUL, and under a scholarship provided by CFUL, he completed his MA with a translation and a commentary of Theophrastus’ Metaphysics (2025).
In 2025 he was awarded a PhD scholarship by FCT. His dissertation aims at elaborating the first comprehensive study of the Psychology of Theophrastus.
He is also a member of the NEN (Núcleo de Estudos de Neoplatonismo), with which he is working on a full translation of Ennead II, 2 of Plotinus.
His main areas of interest are Ancient Philosophy, the Peripatetic tradition and Greek and Roman Practical Philosophies.
