Filipa Afonso is Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Lisbon, where she teaches Medieval Philosophy, Medieval Metaphysics and Ancient and Medieval Neoplatonism. She received her PhD in Medieval Philosophy from the University of Lisbon with a thesis on Bonaventure’s Metaphysics of Light. Filipa Afonso is Vice-Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, has served as vice-director of Centro de Filosofia da Universidade de Lisboa, currently is the coordinator of the HPhil Group within the CFUL. She is a member of Société Internationale pour l’Étude de la Philosophie Médiévale, and Sociedade Portuguesa de Filosofia Medieval.
