Mariana Teixeira

Mariana Teixeira is a FCT Assistant Researcher and Group Coordinator of Praxis—Practical Philosophy Research Group/CFUL with a research project on the ambiguity of Hegel’s legacy in contemporary Philosophy from the standpoints of class (Marx, Kojève), gender (Beauvoir) and race (Fanon). She is also an Associate Researcher at Cebrap (Brazilian Centre for Analysis and Planning) and JUSTLA (Justice in the XXI Century: A Perspective from Latin America), and Adjunct Editor of Dissonancia: Critical Theory Journal.
She earned a doctoral degree in Philosophy from the University of Campinas (Brazil) and conducted a post-doctoral research project at the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany). Mariana Teixeira served as Scientific Coordinator of Mecila (Maria Sibylla Merian International Centre for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences – Conviviality-Inequality in Latin America) and later as postdoctoral researcher and coordinator of the Centre’s Research Area “Politics of Conviviality”.
Her areas of interest include critical theory, post- and de-colonial theories, feminist epistemologies, and the dialectical tradition stemming from Hegel and Marx.
