Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\u201cThe bourgeoisie has through its exploitation of the world\u00a0market given a cosmopolitan character to production and consumption\u00a0in every country\u201d says the Communist Manifesto, <\/i>the same text which states that \u201cThe working men have no country\u201d and ends with the famous call \u201cThe proletarians have nothing\u00a0to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Working men of all countries, unite!\u201d. The \u2018bourgeois cosmopolitanism\u2019 was the object of critique in different texts authored by Marx (and Engels). Thus, Marx underlined that \u201cpolitical economy displays a cosmopolitan, universal energy which overthrows every restriction and bond, but comes out in its complete cynicism\u201d (Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844<\/i>) and that \u201cfree competition and world trade gave birth to hypocritical cosmopolitanism and the notion of man\u201d(German Ideology<\/i>). However, Marx\u2019s critique of \u2018bourgeois cosmopolitanism\u2019 was not formulated from a local or national perspective, but from the perspective of a\u00a0 radical cosmopolitics whose main elements, as this presentation argues, could be detected in (i) the immanent critique of \u201cbourgeois cosmopolitanism\u201d or of globalised capitalism, (ii) in the \u2018ruthless criticism of everything existing\u2019 or in the emancipatory and transformational role of Marx\u2019s radical\u00a0 critique, (iii) in the proletariat as a cosmopolitical agency from below, (iv) in the missing theory of state in Marx\u2019s oeuvre, (v) in the stake on the transformation of consciousness and self-emancipation, and (vi) in Marx\u2019s unavoidable\u00a0 humanism. In this radical cosmopolitics, cosmopolitan and communist horizons tend to become one, and the radical cosmo-communist politics appears as the real stake of struggle against global injustice, both in Marx\u2019s time and now.<\/p>\n
