I am from Vienna, Austria, where I studied law at the University of Vienna, and received my master degree in law (Magister der Rechtswissenschaften) in 2001, before working for some time in this field. I did my bachelor in philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and both my master and PhD in philosophy at the Universities of Stirling and St Andrews, Scotland, graduating in 2017 with a doctoral thesis on Essentialism in Aristotle, Kripke, and Fine – Differences in Explanatory Purposes. I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil (funded by CAPES), from 10/2018 to 10/2022. Since 11/2022 I am working as a postdoctoral researcher/ERA-fellow at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, Portugal (funded by the European Research Executive Agency/EU). I am mainly working in the fields of Ancient philosophy, in particular on Aristotle’s ontology, and of contemporary metaphysics. My current research project is on Aristotle’s conception of substance.
