João Maria Carvalho is a student member at the Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon. He concluded his bachelor degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (2019), with minors on Classical Studies, Portuguese Studies and Philosophy.

He is currently a master’s student at the same institution, where he also teaches, as a monitor, the discipline of Core Texts. His thesis studies the works of St. John of the Cross and Vladimir Jankélévitch, focusing on babbling as a way to express the ineffable.

His main research interests are the relations between Theology, Literature and Philosophy, mainly in Franciscan thought and Christian Mysticism of the XVI-XVII centuries.
