Ricardo Mendoza-Canales holds a PhD in Philosophy (Doctor Europaeus) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2015, Special Prize Award/Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado). He has been research fellow and teaching assistant at the Department of Philosophy of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) (Spain), former visiting researcher at the Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and doctoral and postdoctoral visiting researcher at the Husserl-Archives at the University of Cologne (Germany). He has received grants and fellowships from the Fundación Carolina, DAAD, UAB and Fundación Santander Universidades. His area of ​​specialization is contemporary philosophy (esp. Edmund Husserl) and his primary research area is the study of imagination and the imaginary from a phenomenological perspective, especially oriented towards its intersections with epistemology, cultural studies, social ontology and literature. He is also Editorial Secretary of Phainomenon. Journal of Phenomenological Philosophy.
