Luísa Nogueira is a philosophy teacher and coordinator of the Philosophy department at Madeira Torres high school since 1988, member of the redaction council at the Phainomenon journal since 2001, and a researcher at the CFUL (Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon) since 2007. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy in 1981, at the University of Lisbon. Between 1981-85, she taught at the high school and at the primary teacher formation school in Caldas da Rainha. In 1987, she completed a pedagogical traineeship for the teaching of Philosophy at the University of Évora. She completed her master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophy in 1997 at the University of Lisbon, after a sabbatical leave in 1995-96, and her PhD of philosophy in Portugal, after a three-year grant awarded by Portugal’s Ministry of Education.
